The 50th edition of the world‘s largest offshore race commences from the Royal Yacht Squadron on the Isle of Wight on July 22nd. The biennial 690 nautical mile race from Cowes to Cherbourg-en-Cotentin in France, via the celebrated Fastnet Rock off the southern coast of Ireland is a rite of passage for all sailors and one of the greatest spectacles in world sport. A record fleet of well over 500 yachts are expected to take on the challenge.
